The Perfect Housewarming Gifts

We found a place to call home and loved it so much we bought it!

I wanted to share a few of my favorite housewarming gifts we received.

Ruinart Champagne Rose Brut - 1.5L
A friend (and new neighbor) who happens to also be our realtor gave us this bottle of Ruinart Champagne Rose the day we signed. He’s definitely a pro because the gift was perfect. The 1.5L size bottle comes in a box and is so beautifully packaged there is no need to wrap it. It’s also pretty heavy so it makes a statement when its handed over during even the busiest housewarming parties.

Our friend paired it nicely with some Marky’s Special Reserve Caviar ($195/oz). It was a nice touch because we are caviar fans, but you can always pair it with chocolate, some flowers, or a plant.

Unusual Succulents and Succulent Gift Subscriptions

Pink hoya

This was another favorite house-warming gift and truthfully because it came from Rob. We set out with Vivi to our local plant store which happens to be a Japanese store here in SF. It is owned by a wonderful couple who always gives us tips on taking care of the plants we pick up. Due to travel, we steered clear from plants needing a lot of water and went with more hardy ones. We picked up a few interesting ones to scatter throughout the house.

This one is definitely my favorite with its green, white, and pink colors. She’s a beautiful hoya succulent and super easy to take care of. The ball of moss she sits in helps retain water longer and she gets a good soak once a week.

Succulents are excellent gifts for travelers and friends who claim they have black thumbs but also great for plant lovers. Last Christmas we sent Rob’s sister a succulent subscription from Succulents Box and it turns out she did the same for us! We loved the little pots and succulents that arrived and they were all neatly packaged and adorable. They’re all still alive and well despite many multi-week travel - which I’ll hopefully get around to sharing soon!
